9.1.4 Student/Employee VPN Access Requirements in Global Travel

For students, faculty and/or staff planning travel outside of the United States and requiring access to campus systems such as Moodle, Self-Service, or email, Virtual Private Network (VPN) software will be required. Information Technology Services recommends Nord VPN
It is also strongly encouraged that the user checks out an authentication device from ITS for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) purposes. It is not guaranteed that cell phones will work for MFA in foreign countries. Additionally, for security purposes, the College will generally block communication with high-risk countries.
If travel abroad is planned, and the individual expects access to campus systems while away, ITS must be alerted at least two weeks in advance for setup.
