3.7 Academic Program Change

Board of Trustee Approval: August 6, 2007
Revised: October 1, 2020

The College provides an annual review process for all academic programs. In addition, input on program needs and effectiveness is obtained from many sources such as advisory committees, student evaluations and surveys, benchmark data, student performance information, employer feedback, industry information and trends, and collaboration with faculty at other institutions. As a result of such information, program coordinators or other college officials may recommend changes to programs for implementation in the fall semester of the subsequent academic year. Programs can change every other year unless required sooner due to system-office program changes.

Major program changes impacted by state-maintained program curriculum standards will be processed in accordance with established North Carolina Community College System rules and regulations and will be directed through the Office of the Vice President of Instruction. These changes will also be reviewed related to SACSCOC substantive change policies.
